New BBC Drama Truckers launches 10th October

Set in industrial Nottingham, the new BBC drama Truckers is an exciting 5 part series written by ex-binman William Ivory.

With an excellent all-star cast this comical and moving drama portrays the real lives of ordinary 40 tonne truck drivers and blue collar workers operating from a Nottingham haulage yard.

Each episode focuses on a particular character that we follow through a series of funny, touching and painful life changing events.

The first episode features Stephen Tompkinson, DCI Banks and Wild at Hart actor who plays the character Malachi. Malachi lives in a whirlwind relationship with his grown up son and ex-wife. A drama unfolds as Malachi comes to the realisation that his life is in pieces and he sets about putting it right.

Further episodes focus on selfish Steven played by Ashley Walters, Wendy a tough female trucker, and Martin the haulage company boss.

Buckle up and get ready for the ride - BBC One, 9pm Thursday 10th October 2013.
